Memorial Day will be observed on Monday, May 26 this year and is a day of rememberance for the men and women who have died in military service for our country. It is also a good time for families to gather, picnic and enjoy a day at a state park or historic site. Check out our Calendar of Events for a list of upcoming Memorial Day events.
 

  Get Out. Get Dirty. Get Fit. - Being active outdoors is a great way to stay or become healthy and fit. Look for the "Get Outdoors" symbol throughout our website to identify events and programs that provide active, outdoor recreation opportunities.

  Join the Muddy Spokes Club Challenge - Break out your bicycle, helmet and stain-busting laundry detergent. Georgia State Park System’s new Muddy Spokes Club challenges mountain bikers and casual cyclists to tackle 11 state parks and 69 miles of trails.

  Join the Canyon Climbers Club Challenge - Georgia’s Canyon Climbers Club is reserved for those few who have scaled to the top of Amicalola Falls, explored the depths of Providence Canyon, braved the swinging bridge in Tallulah Gorge and faced the daunting staircase in Cloudland Canyon.

  Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan - The Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan 2008-2013 is now available outlining major trends, priorities and critical elements for success for providing outdoor recreation opportunities for future generations of all Georgians.
